FIELD: transport machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and device for controlling a lifting and leveling device using needle tamping machine (1). Tamping machine (1) is equipped with tamping unit (4) containing one roller clamp (6) and one lifting hook (7). In order to create preferable conditions for straightening, it is proposed that setting (3) located in the working direction (C) in front of lifting-leveling device (2) is provided for the location-dependent position of the arrow components.
EFFECT: improved operation speed and reliability is achieved.
