SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to diagnostics in traumatology and orthopedics, and can be used to assess pain and the effectiveness of pain relief after surgery on the knee joint. Perform palpation of a straightened limb in diagnostically significant areas: the tibial tuberosity region, the lower pole of the patella, patellar ligament, lateral ligament at the level of the joint space, projection of the horn of the medial meniscus on the posterolateral surface of the knee joint, the upper pole of the patella, medial epicondyle of femur, medial lateral ligament at the level of the joint space, tendon of the 4-head muscle above the patella, medial edge of the patella, lateral edge of the patella, area of the “goose foot”. Resulting pain intensity is evaluated on a visual analogue scale (VAS) from 0 to 100 mm. Each pain range has a different color for VAS: green color – very weak pain sensations from 0 to 20 mm, blue color – weak pain sensations from – 21 to 40 mm, yellow – moderate pain sensations from 41 – up to 60 mm, orange – significant pain sensations – from 61 to 80 mm, red color – painful, unbearable pain sensations – from 81 to 100 mm. Intensity of pain is applied to the skin of the knee joint with colored markers. Evaluation is repeated after 1, 3, 6, 12 months after the start of treatment.

EFFECT: method provides objectification of the assessment and increase the accuracy of the study of the development of pain in the knee joint due to the topical assessment of pain in the knee joint.
