FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to physiotherapy, rehabilitation and physical medicine, traumatology and orthopedics, can be used for correction of functional disorders of locomotor apparatus in patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome. That is followed by drug therapy, therapeutic exercises, medical massage, stretching of the quadriceps muscle, hip biceps and popliteal muscles, magnetotherapy, cryotherapy and orthosis of the affected joint, method is distinguished by complex treatment of light therapy with a lamp. Lamp is equipped with a nanophotonic fullerene filter. This filter generates hyperpolarized light with wavelength in range from 400 nm to 15,000 nm simultaneously. Procedure is performed at distance of 10 cm from the skin surface. Area of exposure is the upper one-third of the sternum, the upper one-third of the thigh below the inguinal fold and the knee joint of the affected lower extremity. Each of these areas is exposed to 4 minutes successively. Light therapy is followed by a multichannel electrical stimulation procedure. Bipolar-pulse currents in the low-frequency range are used. These frequencies are complex-modulated simultaneously from 20 Hz to 120 Hz. Duration of transmissions was equal to 2 s. Pauses also made 2 s. During the first procedure, the exposure time is 10 minutes. In the course of treatment, the length of the procedure is gradually increased to 20 minutes. Current force is supplied to sensation of muscle contraction under electrodes. Electrodes are applied on 10 fields in one procedure. 1st field—trapezius muscle. 2nd and 3rd fields—broadest muscles of back. 4th field—abdominal rectus and oblique muscles. 5th and 6th fields—gluteal muscles. 7th field and 8th field—quadriceps muscles. 9th field and 10th field—calf and soleus muscles on both extremities. Therapeutic course is 10–15 daily procedures, depending on the patient’s condition.
EFFECT: method provides higher effectiveness of exposure, as well as secondary prevention of arthrosis in patellofemoral joint and restoration of postural balance of a person—due to the complex effect of hyperpolarized light and multichannel electrical stimulation.
