FIELD: monitoring technology.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a technology for monitoring and predicting electrical network damage under the influence of natural hazards. Method of conducting meteorological monitoring and forecasting the damage to electric grid equipment includes receiving operational meteorological data, determining the nature of phenomena hazardous for the electric power grid, monitoring the state of high-voltage aerial power lines, consolidation and advance transfer of information about the place of a possible emergency and the expected composition and amount of damaged equipment, determination of the geographical place of occurrence of adverse events for the electric grid sector, mutual exchange of current and forecast meteorological data. Received and processed data in the relevant subsystems are sent to the operator-controlled database management system, configured to send the latter back to the said subsystems.

EFFECT: it provides increased reliability, reliability and quality of the data transmitted in advance about the place of possible emergency, the expected composition and volume of damaged equipment, as well as improving the quality and speed of the optimal assessment of the choice of the necessary quantity and type of labor and production resources necessary for the prompt elimination of the consequences of possible accidents.
