SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of processing webs. Device for controlling axial forces acting upon a moving web, comprises a first rotatable roller, a second rotatable roller and a third rotatable roller. Third roll is placed between the first and second rollers. Third roller is movable in a circular path in the vertical plane between a lower position and an upper position in response to axial forces acting on the web. In the upper position, the roller is located above the first and second rollers, forming an open horizontal passage for the web. When implementing the method of controlling axial forces, one side of the web is brought into contact with the first and second rollers. Third roller is lowered until it is brought into contact with the other side of the web. Third roller is displaced with force to resist movement in the direction of its upper position. Displacement force is less than the tensile strength of the web.

EFFECT: easier and faster manual stretching of the web.
