FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to individual protection means, protection of instruments, vehicles and stationary devices. Said barrier comprises substrate, ceramic ply and outer lining. Ceramic ply depth makes 0.4-0.8 of total depth of sandwiched armour barrier. Substrate depth makes 0.4-1.2 of ceramic ply depth. Substrate consists of rear ply and, at least, one extra ply. Rear ply is made of steel with stress strength σ"в" = 0.4×109-2.5×109 Pa, while outer lining is composed by material with strength σ ≥ 50 MPa and 0.2-2.5 mm depth. At bullet kinetic energy of ≤3.5 kJ the number of substrate plies equals two while at that of >3.5 kJ said substrate comprises more than 2 plies. Density of the material whereof made are extra plies of substrate is smaller than that of substrate rear ply material.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of armour protection.
