FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a coated article. Method of obtaining a coated article includes screen printing of frit according to the desired pattern on a glass substrate carrying a heat-treating thin-film coating, wherein at least part of the frit is on top and in direct contact with the thin-film coating. First, the frit is dried and/or pre-cured at a temperature or in a second temperature range not exceeding 250 °C. This is followed by drying and/or pre-curing of the frit at a third temperature or in a third temperature range, which is insufficient to cause the frit particles to migrate down into the thin-film coating and melt it in the areas under the pattern, and welding the frit directly onto the base in the form of the desired pattern, to obtain a coated article. Heat treatment of the base with a thin film coating and frit on it at the first temperature or in the first temperature range, sufficient to (a) cause the frit particles to migrate down into the thin film coating and dissolve it in the areas under the pattern, and (b) weld the frit directly onto the base according to the desired pattern, obtaining a coated article.
