FIELD: coatings.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of layered materials containing a metallization layer for the use in mirror and low-emission coatings, in particular heat-insulating double-glazed windows. Some illustrative embodiments of the present invention relate to methods for laser ablation/laser scribing of peripheral edges of coating (for example, low-emission coating, mirror or other coating) on glass or other substrate of a layered structure obtained by preliminary and subsequent application of layers, of heat-insulating double-glazed windows obtained by preliminary and subsequent assembly, and/or other products to slow down or prevent corrosion of coating. A laser operating at a wavelength of 1064 nm can be used to apply scribing lines to the metallization layer(s) and/or metal layer(s) in low-emission or other coating provided in an already created layered or already assembled heat-insulating double-glazed window or other product, for example, along its periphery.
EFFECT: scribing lines reduce the mobility of electrons when moving from the center of coating into the environment and, thus, slow down, and sometimes even prevent the occurrence of electrochemical corrosion.
