Decoder retrieves information about structure of coding block, indicating block size, variable depth of the block, information about coded depth and coding mode information indicating one of the prediction types including skip mode, interframe mode and intraframe mode. It determines current coding block based on information about block structure, variable depth of block and information about coded depth. Determines current block prediction based on information about encoding mode.

EFFECT: technical result is to increase the efficiency of image compression and, accordingly, to increase the efficiency of image encoding and decoding.
