JOB SNARE ELECTRODE FOR REMOVING A FIXED INTRACRANIAL CATHETER WITH MONOPOLAR TISSUE COAGULATION Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B18/08

Abstract RU 2676968 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: snare electrode for removing a fixed intracranial catheter with monopolar tissue coagulation refers to medical technology. Snare electrode contains rod 1 with the distal and working tips. Distal tip 2 of the rod is made with the possibility of contact with a monopolar current. Working tip of the rod is made in the form of closed loop 5. Core is covered with insulating material, distal 2 and working 5 tips do not have an insulating coating. Rod 1 is made of an elastic material and has the ability to overcome resistance when interacting with the catheter and repeating the trajectory of the catheter when moving along it. Rod 1 is fixed stationary with tip 2, on the end of which is placed handle 3 with mark 4 indicating the direction of the bend of the loop. Loop 5 is made by the continuation of rod 1 and forms a ring with an inside diameter depending on the thickness of the catheter and more than its outer diameter. Loop 5 is located at an angle of 7 not more than 175 degrees to the plane of rod 1. Dimensions of the diameter and angle 7 have minimum and sufficient values to ensure horizontal positioning of the catheter inside loop 5, with periodic activation of the monopolar current and orientation of the electrode along the catheter and movement of the loop along it. Handle 3 at the distal tip has the ability to move loop 5 along the path of the catheter with rotation of the loop around it and control the direction of the bend of loop 5, according to mark 4, indicating the spatial direction of the bend of loop 5.

EFFECT: increased availability and simplified operation with minimally invasive removal of a fixed intracranial catheter, as well as reduced risk of complications when using a snare electrode are achieved.
