FIELD: centrifuge.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a decanter centrifuge with rotating bowl (1) provided with at least one solids discharge port (11) and at least one clarified liquid discharge port (15) and screw conveyor (2) disposed coaxially within said rotating bowl rotated in the same direction with a differential rotational speed. Feed suspension to be separated is introduced into a ring shaped space formed between said rotating bowl (1) and said screw conveyor (2) through central feed pipe (10) fixed to the end of screw conveyor (2) and supported in at least one bearing (16, 17). Suspension can be separated by centrifugal force into a solid and a liquid phase so that said solid phase is discharged from said solid discharge port (11) and said liquid phase is discharged through said clarified liquid discharging apparatus (5), wherein liquid phase conduit (4) extends inside a hollow shaft, guiding the liquid phase outside of bearings (16, 18), wherein liquid phase discharge valve (14) is provided outside the bearing on the side facing away from bowl (1) and screw (2). Liquid phase discharge valve (14) is adapted for its adjustment during operation of the decanter centrifuge by means of a handwheel via transmission or by means of a motor. At the end of feed pipe (10) there is seal (6, 7) in the form of a double axial seal.

EFFECT: invention enables to pressurise the system and to use the pressure from the feed pump to support the cake transport in the solids transporting part of the bowl, thereby eliminating the need for variable speed conveyor control and equipment.
