FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a suspension of microfibrillated cellulose. Method comprises the steps of obtaining an aqueous suspension of natural cellulose fibres, adding an additive to the suspension of natural cellulose fibres, feeding the obtained mixture directly into a homogenizer or a fluidizer and producing the suspension of microfibrillated cellulose. Additive consists of at least one natural polymer selected from carboxymethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, starch, carrageenan, locust bean gum, tamarind gum, chitosan, chitin, guar gum, cellulosic derivatives, such as nanofibrillated cellulose, and any of their mixtures. Invention also relates to microfibrillated cellulose obtained by said method and to use thereof.
EFFECT: provided is pure microfibrillated cellulose, from which the additive used for homogenization or fluidization can be easily removed.
