FIELD: GPR transmitters.

SUBSTANCE: GPR transmitter is intended for use in geophysics, geology and communications for underground radio signal emission in communication systems, logging and exploration of subsurface layers of the earth. The technical result of the invention is to reduce the size of the transmitter while maintaining sufficient power of its emitted signal with a tuneable radiation pattern. The technical result is achieved by combining the formation of a video pulse and the radiation of an electromagnetic wave, which is provided by the placement of storage capacitors and a spark gap on a resistively loaded dipole of the transmitting antenna, as well as the implementation of a power source with a bipolar output, the middle point of which is electrically connected to a metal screen, while the output of the generator pulses through a step-up high-voltage transformer is connected to a rectifier, the outputs of which are connected through protective resistors and connector contacts to the input of the spark gap connected through storage capacitors to the resistors of the resistive-loaded dipole of the transmitting antenna. In this case, the parameters of the elements involved in the formation of the video pulse are calculated based on the length of the antenna.

EFFECT: reduced size of the transmitter while maintaining sufficient power of its emitted signal with a tuneable radiation pattern.
