FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy of alloys, in particular to the technology of processing aluminum alloys of the Al-Mg-Mn system, and may be used to produce high strength sheets, used in aerospace, transporting and shipbuilding industry. Method includes the homogenization of cast alloy Al-Mg-Mn in the temperature range 340–355 °C for 7–8 hours, followed by cooling in a furnace to a temperature not higher than 60 °C, cutting the blank of the desired size, deformation-heat treatment followed by cooling in water at room temperature. While deformation-heat treatment is carried out in three stages: in the first stage, the workpiece is heated to 340–355 °C, rolled with a total reduction of 80–90 % at a deformation rate of 100–150 mm/s; in the second stage, the workpiece is rolled with a reduction of 55–65 % at a temperature of 180–195 °C and a deformation rate of 100–150 mm/s, in the third stage, the workpiece is rolled with a reduction of 40–50 % at a temperature of 205–220 °C and a deformation rate of 200–300 mm/s, in the second and third stages, the rolling is carried out in two rolls with the ratio of peripheral speeds determined by the proposed formula.
EFFECT: method allows to obtain sheets with a fine-grained structure and enhanced mechanical properties.
