FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical and pharmaceutical industry and relates to a method for quantifying the amount of flavonoids in Siberian hawthorn leaves. Method comprises preparing water-alcohol extract from hawthorn leaves by extracting 1 g of crushed leaves with ethyl alcohol and determining the amount of flavonoids by differential spectrophotometry. Raw material is extracted once, and ethyl alcohol in a concentration of 70 % is used as an extractant. Amount of flavonoids is quantified at a wavelength of 392 nm in terms of 2ʺ-O-rhamnoside vitexin. Content of the amount of flavonoids in terms of 2ʺ-O-rhamnozide vitexin and absolutely dry raw materials are calculated by formula

where D is an optical density of the test solution; Do is an optical density of the solution of standard sample of 2ʺ-O-rhamnoside vitexin; m is a raw material mass, g; mo is a mass of standard sample of 2ʺ-O-rhamnoside vitexin, g; W is mass loss when drying in percent.
EFFECT: technical result is the increased completeness of extraction, specificity and accuracy of measurements.
