FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of thermal anti-flocking treatment of railway wheels. Method includes cooling the wheels from the austenitic region, isothermal aging and slow cooling. Method is characterized in that the cooling of the wheels from the austenitic region is carried out in air to a temperature of 350–500 °C, then the wheels are heated to a temperature of 650–700 °C and isothermal aging is carried out for 6–10 hours with subsequent slow cooling of the wheels.
EFFECT: proposed regimes of thermal anti-flocking treatment by removing residual hydrogen from wheel steel make it possible to improve its plastic and impact characteristics and to increase the operational strength of railway wheels.
