FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and biochemistry, namely to recombinant mycelial fungus Aspergillus nidulans 031/pDHG25-SgrDI (pyrG-) strain. This strain has steroid-11α-hydroxylating activity, the ability to convert progesterone into 11α-acetoxyprogesterone, acetylating activity and ability to esterify 11α-hydroxyprogesterone. Present strain was obtained by transforming strain A. nidulans 031 (argB-; pyrG-) (AN031;CBS 129193) autonomously replicable plasmid pDHG25-SgrDI containing a unique SgrDI restriction site. Invention also relates to use of said strain for 11α-hydroxylation of progesterone to form 11α-hydroxyprogesterone and for acetylation 11α-hydroxyprogesterone to give 11α-acetoxyprogesterone.

EFFECT: present invention allows to obtain 11α-hydroxyprogesterone and 11α-acetoxyprogesterone with the help of biocatalytic processes.
