SUBSTANCE: method of preparing silage and haylage in the field includes mowing and grinding the feeding mass. Immediately after mowing and grinding, the feeding mass is compressed to reduce its moisture content. The pressed juice is collected in a juice container. The feeding mass is sent to sealed container in the form of a plastic liner placed in a rigid container. The feeding mass is vacuumed in a plastic liner, which is then sealed. Then, the containers with juice and mass are transported to the storage location. A silage and haylage preparing machine in the field includes a chassis on which an extrusion auger is mounted, a container for collecting the separated juice, a rigid container for sealed container in the form of a plastic liner, a vacuum device, a device for sealing the liners and a loading device.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of feed production and its quality.
