FIELD: printing equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of printing an image on a product by transferring an image to tape media, namely to thermal transfer printers in which ink is transferred from the ink ribbon to the label tape via a hot thermal head, and can be used for printing on diaries, packaging, printing products, souvenirs, labeling of goods, etc. Essence of the claimed invention is that for thermal transfer printing use hot stamping tape and auxiliary tape with adhesive heat-sensitive layer, combined heat-sensitive layers towards each other, at the press the printing thermohead influences on the auxiliary tape, forming areas corresponding to the negative image, then the tapes are divided, on the hot stamping tape remains a positive image, which through heating and pressure is transferred to the printed material or object.

EFFECT: technical result is to reduce the cost of digital thermal transfer printing and expanding the range of available materials through the use of consumables for hot stamping.
