FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to power sources. In particular, it is applicable in combination with power adapters that convert alternating current into direct current, for medical devices used in conditions of strong external magnetic fields, and will be described with particular reference to such an application. Essence of the claimed group of inventions is that power supply (10) and corresponding power supply method (200) in strong external magnetic field conditions include: power conversion system (12) that converts input power to output power using one or more electromagnetic components (18), one or more ferrous metal bands (16), covering electromagnetic components (18) and shielding electromagnetic components (18) from strong external magnetic fields, wherein the set of one or more electromagnetic components (18) is made with overlapping in a two-dimensional projection space defined by the axes of the thickness and width of ferrous metal bands (16), and ferrous metal tapes (16) comprise a set of one or more ferrous metal bands (16) covering said set of electromagnetic components (18).

EFFECT: technical result in implementation of the claimed group of engineering solutions is minimisation of the problems with magnetic stability, as well as the possibility of integrating the adapter with the powered device.
