FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: this document describes multiphase flow meters and related methods. Device for measuring a flow rate includes: intake manifold; exhaust manifold; first and second flow channels connected between the intake and exhaust manifolds; and an analyzer for determining the flow rate of fluid flowing through the first and second flow channels, based on the parameter of fluid flowing through the first flow channel, wherein the parameter being a differential pressure of fluid flowing through the first flow channel or a density of the fluid mixture flowing through the first flow channel, a source and a detector connected to the first flow channel, wherein the analyzer using values obtained by the detector to determine the phase fraction of fluid flowing through the first flow channel, a valve to control the flow rate of fluid flowing through the second flow channel. Analyzer is configured to move the valve from the first position to the second position based on the differential pressure satisfying the first threshold value, and the analyzer is configured to move the valve from the second position to the first position based on the differential pressure satisfying the second threshold value. Flow rate through the first and second flow channels is determined based on the differential pressure, phase fraction and phase fraction and valve position.

EFFECT: possibility of providing only one channel with measuring tools.
