FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the manufacture of sintered items from the powder of valve metals. Said valve metal powder contains more than 4,100 ppm g/m2 of oxygen, nitrogen in the amount of less than 300 ppm, boron less than 10 ppm, sulfur in quantities of less than 20 ppm, silicon in an amount of less than 20 ppm, arsenic less than 10 ppm and phosphorus in an amount of less than 20 ppm. This method of manufacturing a sintered item includes pressing a powder, providing the resulting pressed product with a solid or liquid reducing agent, wherein the pressed product is not in direct contact or does not come into direct contact with the reducing agent, heating to ensure sintering of the powder to obtain a sintered item, which has an oxygen content of from 2,400 to 3,600 ppm g/m2.

EFFECT: low oxygen content and high resistance to tearing the wire embedded in an anode item are provided.
