SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electromechanical latch system for vehicle doors. System includes a controller configured to receive data about the operating conditions of the vehicle. Door latch system also includes at least one electromechanical door latch having a drive device that can be activated by the controller to unlock the latch. Emergency release mechanism is mechanically connected to the latch to mechanically unlock it. System also includes a user communication device, such as a screen, which has an operable connection with the controller. User communication device provides information about the location and/or operation of the emergency release mechanism when a predetermined operating condition occurs, such as a power failure.
