SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of engineering, in particular to friction products containing polymer composite friction element combined with a metal frame. Friction product consists of a metal frame and a polymer composite friction element, made of five layers: applied to the metal frame adhesive layer, sublayer, working layer, outer layer and additional layer of the polymer composite of working layer, previously subjected to destructive heat treatment, located between working layer and outer layer.

EFFECT: increase in the compressibility of the surface layers of the composite friction element of the product is achieved, the reduction of vibrations and sound phenomena during the operation of products.
