FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention describes a latent catalyst for accelerating the curing of a mixture of phenol-formaldehyde resole or novolac resins with epoxy resins, which is a product of the reaction between a strong organic acid selected from the group including benzenesulfonic acid and p-toluenesulfonic acid, and an organic amine, selected from the group including m-phenylenediamine, p-phenylenediamine, p-diaminodiphenylmethane, p-diaminodiphenyloxide. Method for making a latent catalyst is also disclosed.
EFFECT: latent catalyst accelerates the curing of a mixture of phenol-formaldehyde resole or novolac resins with epoxy resins, as well as increased strength.
