FIELD: fire safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire alarms, in particular to smoke detectors. Smoke detector comprises an emitter, a photodetector and a tubular reflector having a through hole with a mirror surface. Photodetector and the radiator are located in the entrance area into the through hole and face into the opening. Shape of the through hole in the longitudinal and transverse directions and the position of the radiator relative to the mirror surface and the photodetector are selected from the condition that the radiation from the radiator is not directed straight and after reflection from the mirror surface into the photodetector, and with the participation of the said mirror surface directed from the through hole to the outer space through the exit from the through hole. Smoke detection zone with a high energy density of radiation is formed, with the participation of a mirror surface, inside the through hole and in the exit zone thereof. Thus, a small-sized smoke detector with high sensitivity has been developed.
EFFECT: due to the participation of the mirror surface in the irradiation of the photodetector, the range of the angles for recording the scattered radiation is widened.
