FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing ceramic plates for cutting tools for machining difficult-to-machine materials, such as heat-resistant and alloyed steels. Method includes the calcination of alumina, its vibro-grinding, enrichment, drying with obtaining aluminum oxide modification α-Al2O3. Resulting aluminum oxide is mixed with alloying components in the following ratio of components, wt.%: aluminum oxide 58–60, titanium carbide 30–32, chromium oxide 5–7, nickel 2–3, molybdenum 1–2. Next, plasticization and hot pressing are carried out to obtain a pressed plate, sintering and annealing with an exposure time of 5–10 min in the region of the temperature maximum of the obtained plate and its mechanical processing.
EFFECT: invention provides increased durability of the obtained ceramic plates when processing difficult-to-cut materials up to 35–40 min, hardness and bending strength up to 990 MPa.
