FIELD: ceramic compositions.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composite ceramic material which can be used for making cutting tools and machine-building articles. Ceramic composite material for cutting tools includes alumina (α-Al2O3) and titanium carbide (TiC), and additionally contains titanium diboride (TiB2) with the following ratio of components, wt.%: alumina (α-Al2O3) 22-24; titanium diboride (TiB2) 37-39; titanium carbide (TiC) 38-40.
EFFECT: improved physical and mechanical characteristics of the composite ceramic material, namely increased bending strength, crack resistance and hardness.
