FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a protective member for rod-like elements, in particular sections of a rod and/or an endless rod, moving in a measuring head used in the tobacco industry, and to the corresponding measuring head in which this protective member is used. Protective member (13) for rod-like elements, in particular for sections of a rod and/or an endless rod moving in measuring head (4) used in the tobacco industry, comprises at least two adjacent sensors (8-8', 9-9', 10-10', 11-11'), enabling to measure the parameters of these rod-like elements by radiation emitted and received by said sensors, wherein the protective member (13) extends through operation zones (8A, 9A, 10A, 11A) of separate sensors (8-8', 9-9', 10-10', 11-11'), wherein the protective member comprises compartments (14, 15, 16, 17) defined therein, each of which corresponds to operation zone (8A, 9A, 10A, 11A) of one sensor (8-8', 9-9', 10-10', 11-11') and comprises at least one first opening (8B, 9B, 10B, 11B), enabling penetration of said radiation, wherein the protective member has a generally tubular shape, and separate compartments (14, 15, 16, 17) are formed by protrusions (18, 19, 20, 21, 22), each of which together with the rod-like element moving in protective member (13), defines space reserved for each sensor (8-8', 9-9', 10-10', 11-11') and located between peripheral wall (24) of the rod-like element, two adjacent protrusions (18, 19, 20, 21, 22) and inner wall (23) of protective member (13), wherein said space is essentially inaccessible for radiation emitted by adjacent sensors.
EFFECT: creation of a protective member for rod-like elements moving in a measuring head of the type described above in order to ensure the separation of individual sensors from each other; the creation of a measuring head, in which operation zones of the individual sensors are separated from each other, and the creation of a measuring head, providing higher measurement accuracy.
