USE OF STEEL ALLOY FOR PRODUCTION OF CHAINS AND CHAIN PARTS AND ALSO CHAIN LINK OR CHAIN PART PRODUCED FROM SUCH STEEL ALLOY Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC C22C38/04 C22C38/44 B21L1/00

Abstract RU 2679813 C2

FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a steel alloy suitable for manufacturing chains, primarily for use in the mining industry. In the method, the component of the conveyor chain is made of a steel alloy containing from 0.17 to 0.25 wt.% C, from 0.8 to 1.4 wt.% Mn, from 0.4 to 1.5 wt.% Cr, from 0.3 to 1.0 wt.% Mo, from 0.9 to 1.3 wt.% Ni, from 0.1 to 0.5 wt.% W, from 0.015 to 0.05 wt.% Al, not more than 1.5 wt.% Si, not more than 0.25 % by weight of Cu, not more than 0.015 % by weight of P, not more than 0.015 % by weight of S, at least one of the elements of the group of Ta, Nb, V, Hf, Zr and Ti with a total fraction of from 0.005 to 0.1 wt.%, the rest is iron together with inevitable impurities, while in the steel alloy tungsten and one or several elements from the group of Ta, Nb, V, Hf, Zr and Ti with respect to their components are contained in the following relationship: where k is the coefficient for one or several elements of the above group: for Ta, Nb, Hf and Zr = 1; for V and Ti = 0.3, CMA – the proportion of one or more elements of the above group in wt.%, Cw – the proportion of tungsten in wt.%, mTa – the atomic mass of tantalum (in atomic mass units; Ta=180.95 atomic mass units), mma – the atomic mass of one or several elements of the above group (in atomic mass units), and the result “E” is from 0.08 to 0.5, where the component of the conveyor chain is made by solidification and then hardening, starting from the austenitic temperature. Also the invention relates to a method for manufacturing a component of a conveyor chain and a conveyor chain.

EFFECT: improved quality and endurance of the chain.
