FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of experimental aerodynamics. Method is based on external trajectory measurements of the parameters of a passive flight of an object in the atmosphere, the results of which determine the coordinates, the speed of movement of the object, the angle of inclination of the velocity vector to the plane of the local horizon at discrete points of the flight path, calculate the acceleration of the force of gravity of the Earth, find the pressure of the atmosphere using other sources. Additionally, the speed and direction of movement of the atmospheric air masses relative to the earth’s surface, measured by third-party tools, is taken into account, as a result of which for each pair of neighboring points of the object’s trajectory the ballistic coefficient is calculated from the obtained parameter values.
EFFECT: technical result is to improve the accuracy of determining the value of the ballistic coefficient of the object.
