FIELD: agriculture; machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agricultural engineering and can be used to study the cutting of stalks of agricultural crops. Installation consists of cutting system (1), including a rotating cutting element in the form of screw (2) and fixed knife (4). Plate (3) wider than the thickness of the coil is welded to the ends of screw (2) turns. Fixed knife (4) consists of segments that replicate the shape of plates (3) and have one cutting edge. Installation also contains conveyor (6) in the form of an endless belt with adjustable speed, moving in the direction of screw (2) placement. Holders of stems (7), having the form of hollow cylinders, are rigidly mounted on conveyor (6). Holders (7) are arranged in parallel rows with a distance corresponding to the width of the rows of crops, and with a height that allows passage under cutting system (1). Screw (2) is installed with the possibility of adjusting its height relative to conveyor (6) and rotational speed.

EFFECT: it is possible to carry out studies of thick-stalked crops with variable screw rotation speeds, conveyor speeds and elevation of the screw above the conveyor.
