FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used in the construction of metal-cutting tools for milling parts. Milling cutter comprises a body and carbide cutting inserts mounted therein. Body is made in the form of separate disks assembled on a sleeve with a keyway, fixed from rotation by means of a prismatic key and tightened with five studs and nuts with the formation of a helical surface with a lifting angle, equal to the ratio of the pitch of the adjacent teeth of the cutter, measured on the same sides of the teeth along the long diameter of the cutter, to the number of cutting plates. Discs are made with tangential grooves with supporting surfaces for mounting the main and lateral carbide inserts in them, openings for the location of the sleeve with a keyway and five through holes for the studs, and on the edges of the housing there are two cylindrical spacers.
EFFECT: it is possible to replace one or several discs in case of breakage, the cutter's efficiency increases.
