FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used in the construction of metal-cutting tools for milling parts. Prefabricated worm cutter comprises body and carbide inserts installed in it. Milling cutter housing consists of separate disks assembled on the bushing, and along the body edges there are two cylindrical spacers. Assembly body of the milling cutter forms a helical surface on which radial and tangential grooves are made, in which radially the main and lateral tangentially located hard-alloy cutting plates are installed. Said discs are secured by four tightening pins. Sleeve is equipped with longitudinal splines congruent with slots of disks. Cutting plates are of ellipsoidal shape.
EFFECT: result is higher durability and reliability of prefabricated worm cutter.
