DEVICE FOR QUASISTATIONARY HYPERSONIC SHOCK COMPRESSION OF LOW-DENSITY MEDIA, BASED ON EFFECT OF ENHANCING CUMULATION OF SHOCK WAVES WITH CYLINDRICAL CONSTRUCTION IN MEDIUM WITH REDUCING DENSITY Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G01N7/00 B01J3/08 B22F3/08 H05H1/22

Abstract RU 2680506 C1

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of studies of shock compressibility and optical properties of materials behind strong shock waves at Mach numbers above 5. Shock compression device of low-density media through the formation of a quasi-stationary Mach mode of axis reflection contains a cylindrical hollow explosive charge, initiated by a hypersonic system with respect to the explosive sequential initiation system. Tubular metal liner with an axial cavity filled with a compressible medium is placed on the internal surface of the charge. Liner consists of an external metal pipe and an internal layered system of materials with decreasing density and their location with a decrease in density to the axis. Pipes are secured with end nuts with openings for pumping and inlet of a compressible medium and are closed from the end by a transparent window.

EFFECT: device allows to obtain high-temperature (electron-volt units) high-speed (with speeds of 30 km/s and above) close to stationary gas flows in a flat geometry with the size of the region with maximum flow parameters of 0_5–1 cm3, which makes it possible to achieve, when braking at a barrier of teraPa pressures, to generate a dense high-temperature plasma with temperatures of tens of electron volts.
