FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, namely to the sodium-sulfur battery. Sodium-sulfur battery includes partition 12 of solid electrolyte, cathode compartment 15, formed on one of the opposite sides of partition 12, anode compartment 16 formed on the other of the opposite sides of partition 12, sulfur located in cathode compartment 15, sodium, part of which is in anode compartment 16, sodium container 2, containing most of the remaining sodium, and channel 5 connecting anode compartment 16 with sodium container 2 and including thin drilled channel 53 extending into sodium container 2 and opening into sodium container 2. In addition, connecting channel 5 further includes locking means 52 for closing the connecting channel itself.
EFFECT: improving the safety of the sodium-sulfur battery, from which sodium does not flow immediately, and reducing the likelihood of damage is a technical result of the invention.
