FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mining, mainly to the coal industry, and can be used to predict the dust content of the mined-out space at the excavation site when mining a coal seam that is not prone to spontaneous combustion due to the determination of leakage air from the lava discharged by the fan-based gas extraction unit and the amount of explosive fine coal dust suspended in it. Invention includes preparatory workings on the excavation site, building a fan-based gas extraction unit on the flank of the excavation field, blasting coal in the lava with a shearer, ventilation of the site using a fan-based gas extraction unit, measurement of air consumption and its dustiness with coal dust. Novelty lies in the fact that the flow rate of air and its dust content are determined simultaneously, when the shearer is operating to extract coal, in the flows of air entering and leaving the site and near the fan-based gas extraction unit, in 4 points of the bottom-hole space of the lava, excluding oblique access ways, in the mixture discharged by the fan-based gas extraction unit, and 4 points of preparatory working with the outgoing jet from the site, according to the measured air flow and its dustiness, the volumes of air leaks from the lava through the mined-out space to the ventilation working and to the fan-based gas extraction unit is determined and the amount of explosive fine coal dust suspended in the air streams is determined.

EFFECT: technical result is the determination of the amount of explosive fine coal dust in the mined-out space of the existing lava.
