SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the machine building, in particular to the locomotives wheel pairs flanges lubrication. Solid anti-friction element is pressed against the wheel flange lubricated surface. Solid anti-friction element supply to the wheel flange lubricated surface is made with the minimum F force, sufficient for the lubricating element movement along the supply device horizontally located guide, at that, the lubricating element has a hardness ensuring its depletion maximum life span, while maintaining the friction coefficient in the wheel flange with the side rail head frictional contact zone at the lubricated contact level. At that, F = P(1 + f), where F is the spring force; P is the solid anti-friction element weight; f is the solid anti-friction element friction coefficient along the guide, supplying the solid anti-friction element to the lubricated surface.

EFFECT: as a result, enabling the solid anti-friction element depletion maximum life span during the locomotives wheel pairs flanges lubrication.
