FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: device is intended for activation of friction and prevention of slippage of rail transport. Device is made in the form of controlled pneumatic drive of solid friction activator supply to locomotive wheel surface with possibility of its pressing and squeezing from wheel rolling surface, operation of drive is synchronized with operation of electronic safety systems and control of locomotive. High-friction activator is in form of a composite porous element, the frame of which is made of a cast aluminium alloy, the cavities of which are filled with a friction-activating substance, which is a composition based on polyester resin filled with special additives for functional purpose. Cavities of the activator element are evenly distributed over the surface of the end of the activator element directed towards the rolling surface of the wheel, and the ratio of the area on the cavity of the activator element to the whole area of the end face of the activator element ranges from 30 to 50 %.
EFFECT: technical result, obtained during implementation of this invention, is expressed in providing maximum resource of activation element production in process of controlled process of its application on rolling surface of wheel pairs of locomotives and providing required friction coefficients in zone of wheel-to-rail contact.
