FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rail transport and is intended for prevention of slippage. Solid activator of friction in the form of briquette is supplied to zone of rolling surface of wheel with minimum force sufficient to provide values of coefficient of friction in area of rolling surface of wheel with rail at level preventing skidding wheels of locomotive. Friction activator pressing and pressing from wheel rolling surface is performed by controlled drive the operation of which is synchronized with operation of locomotive antiskilling system. Physical characteristics and composition of friction activator provide maximum resource of its development. Composition of the solid activator is a thermosetting resin containing pine rosin and barium sulphate in the following ratio of components, wt. %: pine rosin – 5–10, barium sulphate – 25–30, thermosetting resin – balance up to 100 %.
EFFECT: as a result, maximum resource of generation of solid friction activator when implementing process of friction activation of rolling surface area of wheel pairs of locomotives.
