FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a brominated elastomer. Method includes the polymerization of isomonoolefins and at least one polymerizable unit selected from the group comprising isoprene and alkylstyrene. To the elastomer formed from C4-C7-isomonoolefin the first portion of the Mooney viscosity stabilizer is added. Then, the elastomer is reacted with the brominating agent and the emulsion in the bromination section to obtain an output stream. To the output stream containing brominated elastomer a portion of the Mooney viscosity stabilizer is added. Then the output stream is neutralized and the hydrocarbon solvent is evaporated. Brominated elastomer is recovered from the suspension containing the brominated elastomer. Product made of brominated elastomer is also described.

EFFECT: technical result is to obtain a brominated elastomer with improved Mooney stability over time.
