FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: technical solution refers to the systems of aid to the visually impaired and blind. Method is characterized in obtaining global coordinates of the location of a visually impaired or blind person and a two-dimensional map of the surrounding space; obtaining a three-dimensional map of the surrounding space, while creating a map of the depth of the surrounding space, then performing spatial and temporal filtering, dividing the resulting depth map into sections, segmenting the objects on the basis of the depth map; selecting basic features for the recognition of objects of the surrounding space; recognizing objects of the surrounding space and comparing them with the previously obtained two-dimensional map of the surrounding space; estimating the distance from a visually impaired or blind person to recognized objects of the surrounding space; identifying objects that could potentially become an obstacle to a visually impaired or blind person; synthesizing voice messages containing information about the location and obstacles in the way of a visually impaired or blind person.
EFFECT: technical result is to improve the user localization accuracy, obtain information about obstacles and ways to circumvent them, taking into account the speed of the user and its dimensions, and notify the user about this.
