Method comprises the step of providing a plurality of different typical control elements for setting various functions and/or parameters of various household appliances, comprises the step of defining descriptive data for the first household appliance, descriptive data indicates, depending on the current state, which of the many typical controls are used to control the first household appliance, as well as which functions and/or values of the parameters of the first household appliance can be configured using one or more of the typical control elements used. Furthermore, the method comprises the step of creating and dynamically adapting a user interface for a first household appliance in an input/output device of a control unit using a variety of different typical controls, descriptive data for the first household appliance, the current state, and rules for interpreting descriptive data.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of remote control of household appliances of various types is achieved.
