SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and can be used to use a compound of formula (Iq) for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of a retroviral infection and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, where the retroviral infection is caused by a retrovirus, which is the human leukemia virus HTLV1. Compound is represented by formula (Iq) (Iq), where R independently represents a hydrogen atom, (C₁-C₃)alkoxy group or (C₁-C₃)fluoroalkoxy group, R'' represents a hydrogen atom, R' represents a hydrogen atom or a group selected from the group -NR₁R₂, N-methylpiperazinyl group, (C₁-C₃)alkoxy and morpholino groups, R₁ and R₂ independently represent a hydrogen atom or (C₁-C₃)alkyl group, n equals 1, n' equals 1.

EFFECT: use of this compound can inhibit the splicing of the retrovirus RNA, effectively inhibiting HTLV1.
