FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a separator comprising aligned particles for improved specific ionic conductivity, a method for producing same, and can be used in the manufacture of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Separator comprises a bulk material (matrix) having an anode side and a cathode side and thickness extending therebetween, and comprises a region of aligned particles extending across the entire thickness of the bulk material, wherein the aligned particles are formed as a particle chain, and the particles are made of solid electrolyte material. Ionically conductive separator is made by placing a plurality of particles inside a bulk material and applying an alternating current electric field to the particles and the bulk material, when the bulk material is in a liquid state, to align the particles in at least one ionically conductive region of aligned particles within the bulk material. Separator has the required mechanical properties and flexibility.

EFFECT: high specific ionic conductivity of the separator.
