FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: use in the field of electrical engineering for the protection of ship and other autonomous electric power systems (SEES) with parallel operating GUs in case of failure of one or several of them. In the method of automatic load shedding of parallel operating generator units, which consists in disconnecting some electricity loads from the grid, the time moment when the load of at least one of the GUs exceeds the upper set value of the load, and the load of any other GU turns out to be less than the lower set value of the load, is determined, and a signal to disconnect part of the electricity loads is formed.
EFFECT: reduction of the time of disconnection of part of electricity loads, which in turn excludes the possibility of grid overload and interruption of the power supply of the vessel.
