FIELD: electric power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: use in the field of electric power engineering for determination of inoperative generating unit (GU) in ship electric power stations. Essence of said method consists in the fact that in the method of determining inoperative GU, loading of each of GU is measured, magnitude of non-uniformity of GU loading is determined and moment of deviation of the latter beyond the set limits of setpoint is determined. At the same time, the moment of GU transition to the engine mode is additionally determined, and at coincidence of this moment with the moment of deviation of non-uniformity of loading of this GU beyond the limits of the setting, it is determined as inoperative.

EFFECT: shorter time for determination of inoperative GU during parallel operation with a network.
