FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for the differential diagnosis of post-traumatic and idiopathic epilepsy, which consists in determining the concentration of neuregulin-1 in blood serum and when its value is from 0 to 0.035 ng/ml idiopathic epilepsy is diagnosed, when the index value is higher than 0.035 ng/ml, post-traumatic epilepsy is diagnosed.
EFFECT: development of an accessible, accurate, objective method for the differential diagnosis of post-traumatic and idiopathic epilepsy through the use of reliable laboratory criteria.
