FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: patient is examined to assess the following diagnostic signs and their score criteria: rate of epileptic seizures: length of seizure-free periods, days; walking instability; normal walk, mildly lurching walk; moderate walking instability, severe dysbasia; changed muscle tone: normal tone, hypertonus; intensity of deep foot reaction: depression of reflexes, normal reflexes, mildly overactive reflexes, moderately overactive reflexes, severely overactive reflexes, clonospasms; mini-examination of cognitive status (MMSE); clock drawing test; Schulte indices: testing time, seconds. The derived values are calculated by formula. A final total is used to determine degree I, II, III disability or a high probability of preservation of an ability to work.

EFFECT: method allows determining the degree of persistent disability in the patients with posttraumatic epilepsy; it is applicable in a wide age grade, and also it makes it possible to specify the degree of disability in the patient by assessing the diagnostic signs.
