METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF INDIVIDUAL RISK OF DEVELOPING POST-TRAUMATIC EPILEPSY Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G01N33/50 C12Q1/6876

Abstract RU 2725132 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to neurology, and aims at predicting an individual risk of posttraumatic epilepsy. A DNA sample recovered from patient's venous blood is examined by GRIN1 (rs1126442) and GRIN2A (rs1969060) gene polymorphisms. For each of said polymorphisms, a heterozygous, or normal homozygous, or variant homozygous state of genotypes AA and GG of the analyzed genes is established. Further, the detected homozygous genotypes are compared with a table of individual risk indices of posttraumatic epilepsy for a specific genotype. If the index is more than 1.03, a high individual risk of posttraumatic epilepsy is stated. If the value is equal to or less than 1.03, there is no individual risk of posttraumatic epilepsy.

EFFECT: invention provides higher prediction accuracy of individual risk of posttraumatic epilepsy.
